Project Brief:

The brief for this studio asked us to design a coworking space in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

​

The co-working space was to provide hot desks for single and group use, with provisions for larger groups to rent out. The choice of the office space location was selected because the surrounding area is a hub for creatives and designers. Traditional Cambodian art can be found in the area as well as furniture and lighting shops, and the Toul Tumpuong market (also known as the Russian market) is a treasure trove of tourists. The vibrant contemporary atmosphere inspires creative people and is a good place to find project resources and suppliers.

The design intent was to create a relaxing working environment for the user to enjoy and ensure they felt motivated, while also connected to nature. Inspired by the vibrant surroundings, the design outcome needed to feel contemporary and to help stimulate productivity.

The name Luminous was inspired by the desire to create a bright environment that brought positive energy to the users.
