Project Brief:

The brief of this studio asked us to design a Children’s Retail store at Downtown 93 Mall in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The store has an area of 55 square metres and has two entrances, one entrance is connected to the inside of the shopping centre, and the other entrance connects to the main road outside.

Given the target market, the design objective was to entertain and attract. The design solution used bright primary colours and playful hand-drawn sketches to make the space fun and enjoyable for both children and parents.

The design outcome also included a Virtual Reality Mirror, which introduced new technology for Cambodians and provides a fascinating experience for customers. The design of the seat was inspired by the shape of bamboo, representing how children grow into a new generation of leaders, just like bamboo shoots grow into bamboo trees.
